This page explains the most important risks of the treatments offered through StrongMED Health. It's general information, not medical advice, and does not replace your medication label or your provider's instructions. In an emergency, call 911.
Before you start, tell your provider about
Every prescription and over-the-counter medicine and supplement you take, any allergies, recent or planned surgery, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and your full personal and family medical history.
Weight care
StrongMED Metabolic Start (injection, Compounded) and StrongMED Metabolic Dual (injection, Compounded)
Compounded medication. Prepared and dispensed by VSDH, a state-licensed compounding pharmacy, under an individual prescription from a licensed provider. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved, and the FDA does not review them for safety, effectiveness or quality. They are not generic versions of, and are not equivalent or interchangeable with, any FDA-approved brand-name product. Do not use if you or a family member has had medullary thyroid cancer or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia type 2 (MEN2); medicines in this class caused thyroid tumors in animal studies. Possible serious risks: pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, low blood sugar (higher with insulin or sulfonylureas), kidney problems from dehydration, changes in vision for people with diabetic eye disease, and allergic reactions. Not for use in pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you are trying to conceive. Tell any surgeon or anesthetist you use this medicine. Common side effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain and tiredness. Get emergency help for severe stomach pain that won't go away, signs of an allergic reaction, or a lump or swelling in your neck.
StrongMED Energy Shot (at-home injection, Compounded) and StrongMED Metabolic B Shot (at-home injection, Compounded)
Compounded medication, not FDA-approved. Do not use with an allergy to cobalt/B vitamins or any ingredient, Leber's disease, or serious kidney/liver disease. Side effects include injection-site soreness, mild diarrhea and itching. Seek care for signs of an allergic reaction. Tell your provider about all medicines and supplements. Does not replace diet and exercise. Individual response varies.
StrongMED Metabolic C Shot (at-home injection, Compounded)
Compounded medication, not FDA-approved. Do not use with an allergy to vitamin C or any ingredient, a history of kidney stones, or serious kidney/liver disease. Side effects include injection-site soreness, mild diarrhea and itching. Seek care for signs of an allergic reaction. Tell your provider about all medicines and supplements. Does not replace diet and exercise. Individual response varies.
StrongMED Settle Tabs (dissolving tablet, FDA-approved)
may cause headache, constipation or tiredness; rarely, heart-rhythm changes. Tell your provider about heart-rhythm problems or medicines that affect heart rhythm.
Women's health
StrongMED Hormone Balance Tablet (oral tablet, FDA-approved) and StrongMED Hormone Balance Patch (skin patch, FDA-approved)
Hormone therapy may increase the risk of stroke, blood clots, heart attack, breast cancer and dementia. If you have a uterus, estrogen-only therapy increases the risk of endometrial cancer, so your provider may add another medicine. Your provider uses the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed and reviews it with you regularly. Do not use if you have had breast cancer, a blood clot, stroke, heart attack, liver disease or unexplained vaginal bleeding, or if you are pregnant. Tell your provider about migraines, high blood pressure, smoking, gallbladder disease and any planned surgery. Common side effects: breast tenderness, headache, nausea, bloating and spotting. Get emergency help for chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, pain or swelling in one leg, sudden severe headache, vision changes, or weakness or numbness on one side of the body.
Men's sexual health
StrongMED Vitality On-Demand (tablet, as needed, FDA-approved) and StrongMED Vitality Daily (daily tablet, FDA-approved) and StrongMED Vitality Weekend (long-lasting tablet, FDA-approved)
Never take with nitrate medicines for chest pain or a heart condition, or with "poppers". This can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. Tell your provider about heart problems, stroke, low or high blood pressure, liver or kidney problems, or blood-pressure and prostate medicines (alpha-blockers). Get emergency help for chest pain, an erection lasting more than 4 hours, or sudden loss of vision or hearing. Common side effects: headache, flushing, indigestion, stuffy nose, back pain and muscle aches.
Hair restoration
StrongMED Hair Shield (daily tablet, FDA-approved)
For men only. Women who are or may become pregnant should not handle crushed or broken tablets. May cause lower sex drive, erection or ejaculation problems, breast tenderness or enlargement, and mood changes including depression. It can lower PSA test results, so tell any clinician you take it. Results take 3 to 6 months and fade if you stop.
StrongMED Hair Density Oral (oral tablet, Off-label use)
FDA-approved medication; its use for hair loss is off-label and is your provider's decision. Do not use if pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive, or with a history of low blood pressure, heart rhythm problems, heart failure or serious kidney/liver disease. Side effects include unwanted hair growth, dizziness, ankle swelling and fast heartbeat. Seek care for chest pain, fainting, fast heartbeat, sudden swelling or weight gain. Tell your provider about blood-pressure medicines. Results take 3–6 months and vary.
StrongMED Hair Topical Trio (scalp solution, Compounded)
Compounded medication, not FDA-approved. Do not use if pregnant, breastfeeding or trying to conceive; pregnant partners should not touch the treated scalp. Do not apply to broken or irritated scalp. Side effects include scalp redness, dryness, itching, flaking, unwanted hair growth and changes in sexual function. Seek care for dizziness, chest pain, mood changes or severe irritation. Tell your provider about any other scalp treatments. Results take 3–6 months and vary.
